3 must-see London Exhibitions opening this November
Looking for something to do on a rainy day in London? With November bringing colder temperatures and plenty of wet weather, there’s no better time to explore the city’s galleries and museums.
From Renaissance masterpieces to contemporary street culture and groundbreaking British design, we’ve rounded up three must-see exhibitions opening in London this November.
BEYOND THE STREETS
Returning to London’s Saatchi Gallery this November, Beyond The Streets explores six decades of street culture and its influence on contemporary art, fashion, photography and music. Featuring more than 100 international artists across ten exhibition rooms, the immersive showcase brings together graffiti, large-scale installations, rare archives and previously unseen works.
Visitors can expect contributions from some of street art’s most recognisable names, including Banksy-era contemporaries Shepard Fairey, KAWS and FUTURA 2000, alongside works exploring hip-hop, London’s graffiti history and 2Tone culture. With interactive experiences and installations created specifically for the exhibition, this is one to add to your London itinerary.
Location: Saatchi Gallery, King’s Road, Chelsea
Dates: 11 November 2026 – 5 May 2027
VAN EYCK: THE PORTRAITS
For the first time in history, all nine known painted portraits by Flemish master Jan van Eyck will be brought together under one roof. Opening at The National Gallery this November, this landmark exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience the extraordinary realism and attention to detail that transformed European portraiture nearly 600 years ago.
Bringing together works from collections across Europe, the exhibition introduces visitors to the merchants, craftsmen and family members who sat for van Eyck. From intricate facial details to remarkably lifelike expressions, each portrait offers a fascinating glimpse into the 15th century. With this collection unlikely to be reunited again, it’s one of London’s most significant exhibitions of the season.
Location: The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square
Dates: 21 November 2026 – 11 April 2027
Tickets: From £18, under 18s free
THE NUE BLACK AESTHETIC
Opening at London’s Design Museum this November, The Nue Black Aesthetic celebrates a new generation of Black designers transforming Britain’s creative landscape. Guest curated by author and journalist Charlene Prempeh, the exhibition brings together more than 100 objects spanning fashion, furniture, architecture and installation.
Featuring influential creatives including Samuel Ross, Bianca Saunders, Saul Nash and Simone Brewster, the exhibition explores the relationship between design, identity, heritage and community. Across six sections, visitors will discover the diversity of contemporary Black British design and the individuals shaping its future. A must-visit for anyone interested in fashion, interiors and contemporary culture.
